Final Assignment Modul 3


1.       Write a biography of a famous person. Start with an orientation,  describethe events, and finish it with there orientation. Write at least 150  words.

 

JENDRAL SUDIRMAN



Sudirman was born in Purbalingga, Central Java on January 24, 1916. He came from a modest family. During the Japanese era, he joined the Homeland Defenders army in Bogor. After Indonesia's independence, he managed to fight against Japanese forces in Banyumas and wrote his struggle in the biography of the hero.
He was elected Commander of the TNI, during the War of the Ambassadors of Palagan against the British and Dutch NICA forces in 1945. Victory in this battle President Soekarno appointed him General.
General Sudirman fought and guerrilla with his soldiers to fight the Dutch army in Military Aggression II.
He died on January 29, 1950 because of severe tuberculosis. His body was buried in the Kusuma Negara Heroes Cemetery in Semaki, Yogyakarta. In 1997, he was awarded the posthumous Great General title with five stars.





2.       Constructing a spoof text
  Think of a funny incident that happened to you.
     Here are some questions to help you add necessary and interesting information to your story.
1.  Who was involved in your story?
2.  Where did it happen?
3.  When did it happen?
4.  What are the important events in the story?
  Follow the rhetorical steps of spoof texts: orientation, events, and twist.

No shower

One morning I taught in class VII.a. I replaced the teacher who was not present that morning. After I greet and fill the student attendance list. Suddenly, a sentence like this came out of my mouth:

Teacher : Who didn't take a bath this morning? please stand up ...

Silent ...
Randi then shifted her chair back, and she stood up. Randi is a good child but likes to make it in class. Seeing Randi standing up, all the students immediately laughed. The new atmosphere subsided after the teacher calmed them down.

Teacher : So, you don't take a shower, Randi?
Randi    : I'm taking a shower, sir!
Teacher : so, if you take a shower, why do you stand up?
Randi    : oh I'm not happy to see you standing alone in front of the class.

The students' laughter grew louder. The teacher couldn't hold back his laughter while Randi just smiled.

Fixing the Headstone
 Once, there were two men walking home after a Halloween party. They decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs. Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows.
Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones.
“Holy cow, Mister!”, one of them said after catching his breath,”you scared us half to death, we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?”
“Those fools!” the old man grumbled. “They mispelled my name!”
