Biography
Biography comes from Greek, bios
which has the meaning of life and graphien which means writing. Biography is a
writing that discusses someone's life. Simply put, biography can be interpreted
as a story of one's life history. Biography itself can take the form of only a
few lines of sentence, but the biography can be more than 1 book.
Short biographies only explain
the facts of a person's life and their important role. Long biographies include
important information but are told in more detail and written in a good story
style.
Biography
is a book that tells the events of one's life. Through the biography can be
found a relationship, a description of the meaning of a particular action or a
mystery that surrounds a person's life, and also an explanation of the actions
or behavior in his life.

consisting of: orientation, event or problem, and reorientation.
2. Biography contains based on
fact information and is presented in narrative form.

someone's life experience told in the biography figure.

Structure of Biographical Text
Following is the structure of the
biographical text consisting of orientation, events and problems,
reorientation.
1. Orientation
Orientation is the part where
explaining about the introduction of characters, contains an initial
description of the characters told in the biography.
2. Events and Problems
Part of the event or event is a
part that contains an event or event that has ever been experienced, including
in it contains about the problems it has faced in achieving its goals and
ideals. The interesting, amazing, impressive, and touching things that
character has ever experienced are also described in this section.
3. Reorientation
Reorientation is the closing
part. This section contains the author's views on the narrated figure.
Reorientation is optional, which means that it may or may not exist in this
section.
Example of Soekarno's Biography
Bung Karno was a popular name
from Soekarno. Born on June 6, 1901 in Blitar, East Java. When Soekarno was
small, he did not live with his parents in Blitar. He lived with his
grandfather named Raden Hardjokromo in Tulung Agung, East Java. Soekarno even
went to school there even though it wasn't finished, because he had to come
along with his parents who at that time moved to Mojokerto. In Mojokerto,
Soekarno was then schooled at the Eerste Inlandse School where his father also
worked there as a teacher. But then he was transferred in 1911 to ELS which was
at the level of elementary school to be prepared to enter at the HBS in
Surabaya. After graduating and attending HBS in 1915, Soekarno then lived in
the house of Haji Oemar Said Tjokroaminoto or HOS Cokroaminoto who was a friend
of Soekarno's father. It was Soekarno who knew the world of struggle which made
him a true fighter.
